Here are just a few "must-dos" while you're in Tokyo:
·
Visit the world-famous Tsukiji fish market at dawn, followed by a raw
fish breakfast at a nearby café. The world's largest fish market handles
more than 400 types of seafood, from the smallest sardines to tunas
tipping the scales at over 300 kg. Closed to most travellers, we know how to get you in!!
·
Tour the Meiji-jingu shrine, an oasis of calm secluded in a 175-acre
forest of 365 species of evergreen trees, each of which was donated from
across Japan.
·
Explore the historic geisha district on the streets behind the Asakusa
temple. Tokyo's oldest geisha district still has several dozen working
geishas.
·
Tour Akihabara Electric Town a haven (heaven, actually) for techno
geeks. You'll find acres of electronic gadgets, including items found
nowhere else on earth.
And my strongest recommendation: Make
the time for a short trip outside Tokyo to experience a stay at a
traditional Japanese guesthouse, or ryokan.
